We asked him about what makes him unique, the source of his style and where his inspiration comes from; what male grooming means to him. We followed him around Soweto and Johannesburg for the day, to look through his lens and see what he sees. The aim of the campaign was to put a spotlight on unique, diverse and aspirational men and show that with Philips, men can express themselves however they want to everyday.
Paul ‘Snoddie’ Snodgrass is a Cape Town based comedian and actor chosen as one of Philips ‘Styles of Mzanzi’ brand ambassadors. We asked him about the stage, funny bones, rock ‘n roll and beer and generally had a laugh following him around all day. We also asked him about ‘cut-throat’ shaves vs. razors and what male grooming means to him. Dylan ‘Blayze’ King is a Johannesburg based music producer and entrepreneur chosen as one of Philips ‘Styles of Mzanzi’ brand ambassadors. We asked him about what makes him tick, where his inspiration comes from and what male grooming means to him; filming him in his studio, on the road and ‘in da club’. The aim of the campaign was to put a spotlight on unique, diverse and aspirational men and show that with Philips, men can express themselves however they want to everyday.
Filmed together with Amarok brand ambassador Sarel van der Merwe, and actress Vanessa Hayward, the teaser video was intended to create interest for the campaign.
Filmed in an abandoned warehouse in Cape Town, the Amarok was taken through its paces. The video was also used as a True View advert on YouTube.
Utilising almost exclusively still images and some sourced stock footage we were required to create an engaging animated piece to showcase the 2013 “showstopper” vehicles at J.I.M.S.

This video played out completely in the mandatory 5 seconds of a YouTube pre-roll ad before the viewer is allowed to Skip Ad.
We used this 5 second media time limit to demonstrate how fast the new Audi R8 Coupé can accelerate.
The ad received a 2nd place Creative Circle's Ad of the Month (April 2013).
Hogarth Cape Town wrote the script and conceptualised the animation using existing Debtbusters style guide.
The result was an easy to view video which explained the principles of how the Debtbusters business works.
